Zaatar Chicken

If you like your a herby zesty and zingy chicken, you will love this Middle Eastern spice infused zaatar chicken. 

Zesty Zaatar infused Roast Chicken

Servings: 4

Cooking time:40 minutes


5 Chicken drumsticks
4 garlic cloves (crushed)
1 large red onion
4 large potatoes
30 gr melted butter 
3 tbsp of chicken stock
3 tbsp clear honey
1 lemon (sliced)
4 tsp Zaatar
1 tsp salt
1 tsp black pepper
A bunch of thyme



      1. Chop onion, potatoes and mince garlic;
      2. Wash and dry the chicken;
      3. Preheat the oven to 190 deg C;
      4. In a bowl, combine the garlic, onion, honey, stock, salt, pepper and zaatar;
      5. Rub the chicken and potatoes with the mixture;
      6. Place the potatoes then chicken and lemon in a baking dish;
      7. Bake for 30 minutes, glaze the melted butter over the chicken, then grill for 10 minutes until golden;
      8. Cover the pan and cook over low heat for 30 minutes;
      9. Garnish with thyme, leave to rest 5 minutes.
