Aleppo pepper is a deep-red, coarsely crushed chili flake traditionally from the Aleppo region, prized for its fruity, slightly tangy, and earthy flavor with mild to moderate heat. Its distinctive character comes from sun-drying, deseeding, and lightly curing with salt and oil.
Aleppo Pepper Flakes have mild to moderate heat noticeably warmer than paprika but significantly gentler than cayenne or typical red pepper flakes. The heat is slow-building and balanced rather than sharp, making them ideal for everyday cooking.
Aleppo pepper delivers a complex flavor profile: fruity and slightly sweet with subtle earthiness and a hint of tang, making it much more flavorful than standard dried chilli flakes.
Aleppo pepper is perfect both in cooking and as a finishing touch at the table.
